„Belvárosi Művészeti Napok” (Art Days in the City) events:

- On the first "action day" on Thursday, September 21, 2023, from 10:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m., on the theme of gingerbread, we processed our personal experiences and emotions related to the topic in the form of a collage based on basic gingerbread shapes (baby, heart, hussar). This was followed by the introduction of the participants while they show their completed works, where such beautiful ideas came up as attachment to family and grandchildren, old gingerbread memories from childhood, or love. In the first half of the session, a gingerbread maker master Mirtill Seregély told about the craft and its history, and asked the participants about their memories related to it. Next, we made traditional farewell gingerbread cookies. In the second half of the session, a pasta maker Dr. Ilona Fehér presented the types of pasta found in the Carpathian Basin and tell how they were made. The topic was close to everyone, as it is related to an everyday activity: cooking. In this regard, several people shared with us, and with the younger ones, their daily practices, their childhood memories, and the methods they learned from their parents.

The second program day was held on Friday, September 22, 2023, from 2:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. The theme was weaving, story weaving and card weaving. We started the occasion with an introductory tune-up and „koboz”( plucked instrument) music by Tamás Ferencz, who makes instruments and looms. After creating the "spinning atmosphere", the practical work began, where we learned how to use the card loom made by Tamás, then we wove a ribbon, which we attached to a key ring with a leather addition. During the weaving process, we developed concentration and attention retention. Weaving is monotonous work, you have to perform similar movements for a long time, it is important to remember their sequence and concentrate strongly on what will be the next step. The participants were able to come home with new experiences and a nice gift, as well as nice experiences.
